The Gebchak nuns were overjoyed to have His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa, Drubwang Tsoknyi Rinpoche and His Eminence Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche preside at the consecration of their new temple in September 2015. The temple took four years to construct, and it now awaits installation of statues and wall paintings. Now the nuns – including two elderly nuns who lived at Gebchak in the 1930s – are ready to continue their annual cycle of prayers and sadhana ceremonies (drubchens) all together again. Gebchak’s main temple is the hub of spiritual life for the nuns as well as many surrounding nomad families.
